A song and music video I made to teach my students the French speaking (i.e. French as an official language) countries of Africa - their official names en français and their geographic locations. Countries included are mainland African nations with French as at least one of their official languages. I did not include small islands (i.e. Seychelles, Comoros) or countries where French has a significant presence but is not an official language (i.e. Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Mauritania). Disclaimer: This video has been made for entirely educational purposes and I am making no money from any of this. I've published this on YouTube for teachers and students of French. TEACHERS: If you would like the MP3, any of the pictures used in this video, and/or printable educational materials to tea...

"Le Freak" is a successful 1978 disco song by the disco band Chic. It was the band's third single album and first Billboard Hot 100 and soul music number-one song. Along with the tracks, "I Want Your Love" and "Chic Cheer", "Le Freak" scored number one on the disco charts for seven weeks. The single album has the distinction of being the best selling record ever for Atlantic Records company, and the best-selling single ever for Warner Music Group until it was displaced during 1990 (by the singer Madonna's song "Vogue"). The single achieved sales of more than four million and also scored number seven in the UK singles chart. The song was ranked number 19 on Billboard Magazine's top 100 songs of the first 50 years of the "Hot 100" chart.
